The Boston Herald interviewed Rob Kazinsky and he says Warlow is set to explode in tonight’s season 6 finale. Um, dare I ask if we can hope for a literal explosion? Excerpts below the Read More if you’re trying to be spoiler-free!
What happens when you tick off a 6,000-year-old being with godlike powers?
Fans of “True Blood” might find out in the season finale of the hit HBO supernatural drama (tonight at 9) as the fae-vampire Warlow presses telepathic waitress Sookie to become his unholy bride.
And the stakes couldn’t be higher — and so says the man who should know — actor Rob Kazinsky, who has been the show’s secret weapon all season as the sexy stranger who captured Sookie’s (Anna Paquin) eye and then tried to claim her as part of a deal made centuries ago with her family. (Long, disturbing story.)
And if Sookie doesn’t agree to become his?
“This guy’s a timebomb if he goes off. It’s not just scary, it’s cataclysmic,” Kazinsky told the Herald last week. “He’s an incredibly powerful vampire, and as a fae, he throws fireballs. He can take what he wants, but he’s trying his best to be understanding, to be a good guy, to make her love him of her own free will. She has a choice, and he’s given her that.”
As for his “True Blood” character, Kazinsky is refreshingly blunt: “He’s an addict. He can’t fight his nature and he can’t fight his natural cravings. Unlike a junkie, he doesn’t just have a relapse, he has a bloodbath. It’s not just one person, he has to drink 10, and he can’t control that side of him.”
To Warlow, Sookie is salvation: The two could feed off each other, regenerate each other, and no one else need be hurt.
Sookie this season has tried to figure out where she belongs in the world and what sort of man she should be with. She’s given both vampire Bill (Stephen Moyer) and shapeshifter Sam (Sam Trammell) the once-over recently, but Kazinsky notes Warlow is offering her eternal life without any downside. She would still retain her fae powers, her soul and her conscience.
“If I was Sookie, I would be interested,” he said.
“In my mind’s eye, I can’t see Sookie and Bill getting over their troubles — or even Sookie and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) — so maybe this guy is her best chance if he makes it to season seven.”
So will he — and his Warlow — continue to haunt “True Blood”?
“That would be telling,” he said mischievously. “I can’t give that one away.”
So, who is Warlow going to drink tonight if he goes nuts? He drank all the fae except for Adilyn, and who is coming to help Sookie? Jason, Andy, Bill, Violet and Jessica were seen headed it that way. Does this mean some of them may not survive, either?
