“In The Evening” Promo Clips.
Thanks to Eric & Sookie Lovers for putting them together already. Honestly, nothing terribly exciting, which may bode well since maybe it means there wasn’t anything they could show that didn’t give a lot away. Instead we get Alcide saying goodbye to his dad (which was pretty dull, even if it is Robert Patrick), Sam learning about Terry’s death (which was painful and realistic) and Jessica being taken to Jason, where the scene cuts off right at the same conversation that is in another promo. So, the only thing we didn’ t know before is that Alcide’s dad is going back to Jackson to stay, which honestly isn’t something terribly meaningful to me.
But hopefully this was just the dregs of the clips for the show…
Michael McMilian was promoting his latest True Blood project at Comic Con, Steve Newlin’s Field Guide to Vampires. According to ONTD:
“The idea behind the book is that it was his journal when he was a human, and the research he was doing on vampires and the supernatural world from the time during and after Season 2 and before he was turned into a vampire sometime during Season 4,” McMillian tells Zap2it during an interview at San Diego Comic-Con.
The general premise is that the journal was found in Steve’s car after he was kidnapped and turned into a vampire. Pam then took it from a Fellowship of the Sun protestor outside Fangtasia, and she and Eric made their own annotations on Steve’s notes.
Steve Newlin’s theories on vampires are not the only thing the former reverend dishes on — he also journals about the progress of his divorce from ex Sarah!
With Anna Camp finally making her triumphant return as Sarah Newlin in Season 6, fans will be happy to know that “Steve Newlin’s Field Guide to Vampires” will fill in the blanks about her and Steve’s divorce — at least from Steve’s perspective. He says the book helps explain what happened between when they were seen fighting on air at the end of Season 2 and when he returned at the end of Season 4.
“We just talk a little bit about why their marriage went wrong and sort of where they’re at. You can sort of track the divorce through the book, and there’s a lot of passages where he like just kind of gets off topic and rants about Sarah for a couple pages,” McMillian says. “Anna Camp and I have been great friends since Season 2 and we’ve been waiting for that moment to get back and play those characters together again.”
Steve Newlin’s Field Guide to Vampires is scheduled to be published in November 2013.
You know how I’ve been complaining about Alcide turning into a complete douchebag this year? (And that is the relatively polite word I picked over the half dozen truly insulting rude names I considered.) Joe Manganiello would beg to differ that his character has turned into a total dick. He actually digs it. Or so he told MTV…
In fact, Manganiello said he couldn’t be happier with his character’s new attitude since taking over as Shreveport packmaster — especially since it has meant fewer critical phone calls from his real-life father.
“I’m glad that he’s not taking anybody’s crap anymore,” Manganiello said of Alcide. “There’s only so many times you can get punched, shoved, cheated on, just repeatedly. It gets so frustrating, and I know when that happens to me, the next day after the episode airs, I’m going to get a call from my dad. ‘Why didn’t you kill him? You could destroy him. You can kill everyone! Why are they letting this happen?’ I just don’t want those phone calls from my dad. This year’s great. He’s getting punched in the face and then he’s just knocking people out, which is the way it should be. Don’t punch an angry werewolf in the face. If it seems like a good idea at the time, take a nap.”
He also talks in the interview about why he thinks True Blood is doing well despite the loss of the previous showrunner, so check out the rest of the article.
HBO has updated their description for episode 6.8, formerly known as “A Change is Gonna Come” and now known as “Dead Meat.” Details below the Read More.
Wetpaint talked with Rob Kazinsky at SDCC and got some more hints from him. Story with video link here and excerpts below the Read More!
Anna Paquin talked to Access Hollywood while at Comic Con San Diego and she says that there is love between Eric and Sookie, but it’s not working “right now” because it is the “wrong place and wrong time.” Sounds like she is leaving the door open on that relationship, though.
There is also the video conversation with Rob Kazinsky that was quoted in other articles earlier this week. Note that he ALSO says that there will be more than one death and that it will “greatly change the tone of the show.” Can you say Sookie gets turned? I’m thinking that is going to be the major season ender, with Warlow turning Sookie — maybe against her will?
