New TB soundtrack – spoilery songs?

Several eagle-eyed fans in the TB fandom have noticed that some of the music on the next TB soundtrack, due to be released on May 27, not only has music from season 5, but appears to include songs from season 6, too.  Photo and more details below the Read More.

The Vault went through the tracklist and noted which episodes could be clearly linked with episodes already:

1) “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood” – Eric Burdon with Jenny Lewis –  title of Season 6, episode 1
2) “Let’s Boot and Rally” – Iggy Pop with Bethany Cosentino – episode 5.05
3) “What Makes a Good Man?” – the Heavy – episode 5.11
4) “Smokestack Lightnin’” – Howlin’ Wolf – episode 5.08
5) “Pocket Change” – Alabama Shakes – episode 5.04
6) “Authority Song” – Bosco Delrey – episode 5.02
7) “Turn Turn Turn” – My Morning Jacket – episode 5.01
8) “Your Face Can Tell the Future” – the Flaming Lips
9)  ”The Sun” – the Naked and Famous
10) “Undertow” – Warpaint – episode 5.05
11) “I Wanna Be Your Man” – Mobley
12) “(She’s a) Wanderer” – Deap Vally
13) “Whatever I Am, You Made Me” – Koko Taylor – episode 5.03
14) “We’ll Meet Again” – Los Lobos – episode 5.02

This leaves the following songs as possible season 6 music:

8) “Your Face Can Tell the Future” – the Flaming Lips
9)  ”The Sun” – the Naked and Famous

11) “I Wanna Be Your Man” – Mobley
12) “(She’s a) Wanderer” – Deap Vally

According to the latest episode title releases from HBO, the titles for 6.1 has been changed to “Who Are You, Really?” so it is confusing that they appear to have recorded a specific cover of the original title, ‘Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood” for the show, so we will see what is actually used.

I’m intrigued by two other songs, “The Sun” by the Naked and the Famous, which follows the new title of episode 6.2, and “I Wanna Be Your Man” by Mobley, which is close enough to the supposed 6.4 episode title “I’m Your Man” to be interesting.  I was unable to find videos for anything but “The Sun,” but it’s a doozy.
