Chapter 5 of The Real Me

One good thing about not being able to go into work thanks to Superstorm Sandy: I had time to write. And, fortunately for me, power to my laptop so I could write.

So, live from the disaster zone, another chapter of The Real Me. There are no storms, floods or power outages in this one.  But maybe just a tiny flash of lightning. 😉

The Real Me, Chapter 5: Big Faker

Description for “Dead Ever After” *spoilers*

VikingWenches has posted the description for Dead Ever After from what looks like it may be the UK publisher!

Sookie Stackhouse has one last adventure in store.

Life has taken her from a waitress in Merlotte’s Bar, Bon Temps, to part owner; from social outcast to the heart of her community; from a vampire’s girlfriend to the wife of one of the most powerful vampires in the state. She has survived earthquakes, revolutions and attempts on her life. Sookie has endured betrayal, heartbreak and grief … and she has emerged a little stronger, and little wiser, every time.

But with life comes new trials …

The question is, in the end: who will love, who will live, and who will be dead ever after?

My thoughts: Okay, so if we can assume that Sam is the one who will live, can we rule him out as who will love? And I’m thinking that maybe Bill finally be dead ever after — unless, of course, it is Sookie herself, being turned despite everything CH has claimed until now.

Sandy update

A personal note: we survived Sandy with only 10 hours without power, no damage to our home, and no hysteria from my autistic son who has a storm phobia.  I count this as a miracle.  That said, 75% of our township is still without power, there are trees down all over the county and state and the devastation on the rest of the East Coast is still being calculated.  Thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers from people and please keep them up for those who are still in peril.

And if you were in the path of Sandy, please check in! I am thinking about many of you I have not heard from yet.  Wishing everyone safety and security.

Stay safe, Sooric Truebies!

If any of my readers are in the path of Sandy, I hope you guys stay safe.  Since I’m in NJ (although about an hour inland), we are directly in the projected path but not expecting any real damage or flooding except for power outage in our home.  I hope anyone else effected by this powerful storm comes through safely and with minimal damage.  I’m thinking of you, especially those who may have family to take care of in this.  You will all be in my thoughts and prayers!

I was out of town on a business trip until late last night and haven’t had a chance to work on the next chapter of TRL as a result.  Plus side to the hurricane coming my way: I know already I won’t have to work until late Tuesday at the earliest, so more writing time! Down side to the hurricane coming my way: I may not have power for several days and I am less likely to write once the power to my laptop dies.  *sniffle* But I can always plot, even without my laptop. 😀

See you on the other side, fellow Sooric lovers!

Queen of Area Five’s “Hopeless”

I haven’t had reason to pimp a fanfic in a while, but I loved this one so much I just had to.  It’s an AU season 5 story that tells what would have happened if Sookie had not been “glamoured” by Bill in the hospital’s basement but was instead taking back to Authority headquarters with Russell and the others.  Great little Sooric story!

Five things you didn’t know about McMillz

Wetpaint has a fun little article on five things you didn’t know about Michael McMillian, aka Steve Newlin.  I admit, I only knew two of the five and what I didn’t know that made me squeal with fangirly delight is that he is a graduate of Michigan’s Interlochen Arts Academy, just a short drive north of my hometown.  Gah! As if I weren’t already giddy over his writing the True Blood comics!

Revised chapter for TRM

This is what happens when you don’t have a beta reading your work before you publish.  Some of my readers interpreted things in the last chapter in ways I had not intended, so I went back and tweaked the chapter to make Eric’s intentions and motivations more clear.  I didn’t want to leave people thinking he was a total douche, just a confused guy with active hormones!
